Confessions of a Little Twin
Tuesday, January 13, 2004

So, I had a great Christmas break and am back down at school. I'm already liking this semester a lot better than last semester. Tolkien is the best class ever!!! Get this, our first assignment is to draw what we think a hobbit looks like!!! Lovely. Anyway, even though it's a great class, it's still a senior level class, and that means a lot of work. That and along with British Lit makes for a lot of reading. I'm not in Linguistics, that class was cancelled, so that makes it a little easier. I love my British Lit class. For the novel, we are reading Jane Eyre, my all time favorite book. I was very excited. I'm also really liking that I only have class on Monday Wednesday and Friday. I don't know why, but my mono has hit me hard ever since the end of last semester. I have a hard time even getting out of bed, so only having 9 credits and Tuesdays and Thursdays off really helps.

Something really scary happened last night. At around 11:30, Laura and I were getting ready for bed, Sarah had just gone to her apartment, and I had locked the door after her. I was on the internet, and Laura was in the living room doing a puzzle when all of a sudden, we hear this great big group of guys coming from the stairs (which are right by our apartment). At first, I thought nothing of it, and then all of a sudden, one of the guys tries to get into our apartment. He didn't knock or anything, just tried the doorknob and tried to get in. It took a while for me to calm down enough to go out and talk to Laura about it. I was really glad that I had the door locked. Laura was disappointed that she didn't get to use her sword, but what can you do? (just kidding!!!!!) Anyway, when we came back to school, we decided that we would keep the door locked even when we were at home, and so now it's locked 24-7.

I can't be more excited. Andy Serkis is coming to Salt Lake!!! For those of you who aren't into the whole Lord of the Rings craze as much as I am, he is the actor that played Gollum. He wrote a book and is coming to Borders at Crossroads Mall tomorrow night at 7:00!!!!! I'M SO THERE!!!!!! My Tokien teacher wants to take a video camera and ask Andy Serkis to say something to the class. I think that would be Really, Really cool. Must convince my mom or my sister to got to Hot Topic and get me a Lord of the Rings shirt.

Anyway, must go. Homework calls.
